Camp Figtree is a remote private game reserve, set within the lush folds of the Zuurberg Mountains, in the heart of the Eastern Cape wilderness, set between the renowned Addo Elephant National Park to the north and east and the Insome conservancy to the south.

With Addo at your doorstep, Camp Figtree is ideally situated to allow you to explore Addo National Elephant Park, the lodge conducts daily open land rover safari’s into the park or you can explore the Park on your own. The area hosts a great deal of activities, including hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, elephant back safari’s etc.

Camp Figtree has a local procurement policy and supports suppliers from the local community wherever possible, décor, food and wood are locally sourced. An organic garden at their sister property in Addo supplies the vegetables, which are used in the kitchen and freshly squeezed orange juice are made from local produce.
Of the 17 members of staff employed by Camp Figtree, 12 are from the local area. In-house training is high on the agenda and staff are encouraged to get relevant qualifications to ensure upward mobility.
Camp Figtree is involved in the social upliftment of their local community and is involved in the following projects: Sole Work and the Langbos Community Project.
A grey-water system has been installed and they have also created their own permaculture ecosystem.
